We are lucky to have the opportunity to work with one of the top health systems in the country, University Hospitals. University Hospitals is a pillar in our local Cleveland, Ohio community and has a belief in the possibility of Zero Inequities.
Early in 2022, the Conversations of Love Collective was invited to host a conversation among caregivers at University Hospitals. Through these conversations about the structural racism in our country, and the inequities that persist in our country, we were left more inspired by the power of these conversations. Actionable next steps were outlined on how we can begin to make inequities visible in our respective working environments.
The session closed when the Collective asked the group to form a large circle around the room while a poem was recited. To our surprise, and without prompting, the group reached out to one another and held hands. The moment was an example of our collective humanity and what a couple short hours can accomplish in bringing a group together.
